Rosneft Presents to Car Tourists the Best Routes for Travelling in the North-Western Federal District

30 September 2024

Employees of RN-North-West (part of Rosneft) held a presentation of the best routes for travelling by car in the North-West Federal District in honour of World Tourism Day.

Rosneft is committed to the development of domestic tourism and aims to create comfortable conditions for car travellers. One of Rosneft’s key objectives is to enhance the quality of its roadside assistance and customer service at its filling stations.

The Company’s volunteers organised and held a presentation of the car routes «Road to the Russian North» in the Arkhangelsk Region, «Between Two Capitals», «Eco», «Road to History», «To the City of Dostoevsky» in the Novgorod Region at the Vladimirovsky Country Complex.

Guests at the event were also introduced to Rosneft’s roadside infrastructure and comfortable resting places: the Vladimirovsky Landscape Complex in the Leningrad Region and the Chudovo Motel in the Novgorod Region.

Visitors to the complex were introduced to the amazing northern nature and culture of the Arkhangelsk region and took part in a workshop on traditional Mezen painting. For the youngest tourists there was a game «Hitchhiking through the Pskov Region», which told about the sights of the region. The special location «Novgorod Region» organised moving folk games for the guests.

The car route «Travel along the Ladoga» passes through picturesque places near the lakes Otradnoye and Yastrebinoye, crosses the largest river of the Karelian isthmus — Vuoksa, which is 143 km long, and includes visits to such cultural and historical sights as the Lutheran church in Priozersk and the Korela fortress museum.

One of the main attractions of the route is the Konevsky Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God, founded in 1393 by the monk Arseny Konevsky on Konevets Island in Lake Ladoga. The monastery is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the North-Western Federal District. In 2021, Rosneft completed a major restoration of this ancient Orthodox monastery.

Also on Tourism Day, the Company’s filling stations in St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region held themed events and quizzes on the region’s attractions. Visitors to the filling stations were also introduced to the information and service platform «Horizons of Russia: Ride with us!», which allows anyone to create their own itinerary in a few minutes, based on their personal interests and taking into account the location of services necessary for car tourists.

Rosneft’s retail network is the largest in Russia in terms of geographical coverage and number of filling stations. It covers 61 regions of Russia, and the Company’s network of operating filling stations comprises some 3,000 units. The brand of Rosneft filling stations is one of the leaders in terms of recognition and quality of the fuel nationwide. The Company also offers its customers a wide range of goods and services — from shops and cafes to roadside assistance.

Rosneft launched a special information and service platform, «Horizons of Russia: Ride with us!» in 2023. The Horizons of Russia project has a distinctive feature: thanks to the unique navigation functionality, all points of interest become stops on the route, which the driver can collect and modify at any time during the journey. Several regions of the country, including Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Tula, Ulyanovsk and Arkhangelsk Region, have previously joined the Horizons of Russia project.
